To all whom it may Concern:

Know ye, That John J. Meyres {sic - John J. Myers} a of Captain John C. Allens Company, ("K") Eighth Regiment of Ohio Calvary VOLUNTEERS, who was enrolled as a veteran on the Twenty Second day of March one thousand eight hundred and Sixty four to serve three years or during the war, is hereby Discharged from the service of the United States this 30" day of July, 1865, at Clarksburg W Va by reason of Special OG0143 C S 2nd Defet West Va July 11th 1865 (No objection to his being re-enlisted is know to exist.*)

Said John J. Meyres was born in Ross County in the State of Ohio, is twenty four years of age, Five feet Eight inches high, Fair complexion, Blue eyes, Light hair, and by occupation, when enrolled, a Farmer.

Given at Clarksburg W Va this 30th day of July 1865.
